In “The Face Epic,” Abdou El-Bermawy (Bermalion) revisits the predicament of individual vis-à-vis power. He uses the face as a platform upon which the epic between the individual’s yearn for freedom and the oppressive power is performed. In the midst of this epic, the face is transformed into many shapes; at times deconstructed, at others blown, distorted and yet a mask of its own.
