About our Artist-led Art and Design Workshops and Activities

Fire Station offers creative programmes for everyone. We encourage and support local artists, including the Artists in Residence (AIR), by providing them with the space and opportunity to teach art and design community workshops and organise other creative on-site activities.

Our community workshops and activities depend on the instructor’s proposal, ranging from teaching different art and design techniques and subjects within the instructor’s creative interests.

Interested in organising a workshop at the Fire Station? Please contact us at fsprograms@qm.org.qa.

Exhibition-related Events

In conjunction with the exhibitions in our galleries, Fire Station also organises events by inviting local creative practitioners to offer workshops and participate in activities relating to the exhibition’s themes.

Talks, Screenings, & Panel Discussions

Our talks and panel discussions at the Fire Station bring local and international multidisciplinary speakers, including our residents, to share and discuss art and culture topics. Some of these events occur in conjunction with the exhibitions presented in our galleries and the different residency programmes that take place throughout the year. We also collaborate with museums, creative hubs, and projects in Qatar Museums and local entities and galleries, such as VCUarts Qatar, and al markhiya gallery, in hosting their talks and events.

Fire Station hosts film screenings in collaboration with entities in Qatar, including Aljazeera Documentary, Doha Film Institute, and embassies in Qatar, among others.

These events take place mainly in Fire Station Cinema and other spaces at the Fire Station, including the galleries and the outdoor plaza.
