Simon Mortimer is a visual artist whose work explores the concept of culture and misperception through juxtaposing everyday images and text. He uses a layering technique and creates texture through a wide range of media and different mark making tools. His work challenges the concept of ‘high’ and ‘low’ art by marrying modern media tools such as spray paint and marker paint with traditional ones such as oil paint and etching. Simon Mortimer has exhibited his pieces internationally in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
