About:

This residency takes place in the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in Brooklyn, NY. ISCP is New York’s most comprehensive international visual arts residency program, supporting the creative advancement of contemporary artists and curators, and promoting cultural exchange.

Eligibility:

This residency is open to all residents in Qatar aged 21+ for the duration of 3 months. Students enrolled in an Academic program at the time of the residency are not eligible to apply.

Once accepted, the resident is responsible for securing their leave of absence with their employers for the 3-month period of the residency program. Fire Station can provide a reference letter addressed to the employer that states the artist’s acceptance into the residency.

Applicant should be Holding Qatar ID card valid for 6 months at least.
The Applicant to be born in Qatar or has lived for at least 10 years in Qatar 
The Applicant should pass the jury committee selection process
The Applicant is responsible to apply for VISA and provide it in 2 weeks before starting the program.
the Applicant's visa should be for the whole residency term: 3 months for the US. 

What the residency offers:

The residency includes 24-hour access to a private furnished studio space, communal facilities, regular studio visits from guest critics, field trips to museums, galleries and other cultural venues. Accepted residents are granted living and materials allowance, accommodation allowance, and one return travel ticket.

Only one artist is accepted per residency term.

Residency schedule:

  • 1 January – 31 March 2025
  • 1 April – 30 June 2025
