Curator in Residence

Our three-month Curatorial Residency programme provides a curator with a workspace at Fire Station and includes interactive sessions with local artists and curators in Qatar, participation in Open Studio events, public programmes and opportunities to organise exhibitions during their residency.

Fire Station launched the Curatorial Residency programme in 2020, occurring twice a year for three months in conjunction with the Artist in Residence programme. This programme provides the curator with a workspace at Fire Station.

It also includes interactive sessions with local artists and curators in Qatar, participation in Open Studio events, public programmes, and opportunities to organise exhibitions during their residency.

Application Process and Eligibility

Fire Station accepts curators through an annual Open Call.

This programme is open to independent and institutional curators of all curatorial and research-based practices.

Included in the Residency

  • 24-hour access to a private furnished workspace
  • round-trip ticket
  • offsite accommodation
  • monthly stipend
