Guided by themes of personal symbolism and storytelling, participants will reflect on the self as both a singular entity and part of a larger web of influences. Through guided conversations and creative exercises, they will engage in an open dialogue with their visualized ‘self,’ working across different mediums over three days to create contemporary self-portraits.
Batoul Ahmad is a Syrian-Australian multidisciplinary artist. Her work explores various incarnations of identities through various elements such as dreams and memories. Batoul’s practice delves into the ongoing dialogue between the self and its experience within different layers of the world, reflecting on the complex intersections of identity, space, place and time.
