Jude Samman

Jude Samman’s practice explores the relationship between land, body, and belonging through surrealist painting and interdisciplinary research. Her work reimagines the landscape as a living, sentient entity—one that holds memory, emotion, and interacts with the unseen world. By drawing from archives, oral histories, and lived experience, she seeks to understand how storytelling and imagination can reveal alternative ways of perceiving the world. Jude’s approaches the land not as something outside of us, but as something we are made of and eventually return to. In her practice, the natural world becomes both subject and voice, an active presence that holds wisdom and truth.
