Akka Hamdan (b. 2000) is a multidisciplinary artist, contemporary folklore dancer, and choreographer based in Amman. Her practice investigates the interconnections of body, place, belonging, and heritage within lived experiences and collective narratives. Drawing on archival

materials, Levantine mythologies, and her Palestinian inheritance shaped by life in diaspora, she traces how bodies adapt, resist and belong as they navigate layered sociopolitical, geographical, and philosophical conceptions of place.

Her research-based practice unfolds through dance, performance, interactive installations, animation, Arabic lettering and editorial design, grounded in questioning and material experimentation. Akka's ongoing research examines body geography and its dialectical relations through a phenomenological lens; exploring the embodied mind and spatial material entanglements and evolving as a continuous process that builds and reshapes collective knowledge.
