Monster Maker

Saturday, February 2, 2019 to Saturday, February 9, 2019
Join one of our residents, Nourbano Hijazi, in a fun twist on the old classic Exquisite Corpse game!

Each participant will take turns drawing monsters on folded sections of a long paper scroll, leaving little information for the next person to see. Once everyone adds their contribution on the scroll, passing it on until it is full, we will unfold it to see the awesome creature on it!

Everyone will get to choose different elements of the long monster, and make their own beast sculpture out of air-dry clay and other materials.

Nourbanu Hijazi is a multidisciplinary artist who tends to examine elements from philosophical and psychological perspectives, through surreal and mythological themes. She portrays contrast through working on childish, bright colored drawings, which on closer inspection depict grim narratives through different techniques. She is currently a resident at the Fire Station.
