In this workshop, led by artist Michael Perrone, we will explore ideas related to memories and souvenirs. We will construct a three-dimensional plaster sculpture incorporating a handful of small personal objects. Paint, glitter, and other materials will be added to accentuate the object and create a piece that symbolizes the essential elements of each participant’s life.
Note: participants are asked to bring at least five small objects (or their broken parts) to incorporate into their sculptures.
Michael Perrone currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Painting & Printmaking department at VCUarts Qatar. He studied Art and Art Education at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts and has an MFA in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania.
