The Summer Residency is an initiative that encourages young artists to explore art and develop their artistic skills.
The program is in collaboration with the Ministry of Education which hosts an annual exhibition and The Visual Arts Creators and Awards Ceremony.
Participating students will be given the chance to be part of the Fire Station’s Summer Residency which is an annual program that starts 1 July until 30 August of each year.
The program involves access to a group studio space where each young artist can work on their art pieces. Mentors work with the students providing guidance on daily basis. It gives students an opportunity to discuss art with established artists in the community.
The program also allows the young artists to be part of an exhibition showcasing the artworks after the residency.
