ONLINE WORKSHOP | Nourbanu Hijazi: Create a Puppet Show

During this workshop, Nourbanu will introduce Wayang Puppets. These Puppets are a traditional form of puppet theatre play originally found in the cultures of Java, Indonesia. Wherein a dramatic story is told through shadows thrown by puppets and sometimes combined with human characters.
In this workshop, Nourbanu will help participants get creative, utilize items in their surroundings and learn how to construct their own shadow puppet show.

Nourbanu Hijazi is a multidisciplinary artist whose work aims to explore the human condition through surreal and mythological themes. She has an MFA in Design Studies from VCUarts Qatar. Nourbanu was in residence at the Fire Station (2018-2019).

The required materials for this workshop:
Wooden sticks
Strong/ hard paper
Paper tape/ or regular tape
Paper split pins/ or paper clips
Color markers
Pencil
Scissors
Colored plastic sheets/ or clear plastic sheets
Empty cardboard box
Box cutter
Regular white paper
