ONLINE WORKSHOP | Hassan Manasrah: Linocut Printing

Saturday, August 8, 2020 to Saturday, August 15, 2020

During this workshop, Hassan will introduce the participants to relief printing art and its different techniques, how to produce integrated artwork in one colour and a simple glance on the history of Linoleum printing art and its most important artists.

Day 1 of the workshop will focus on introducing some tools, preparing sketches and canvases and start the carving process. Day 2 will be about how to deal with ink, the way of inking the plate and printing the plate with one colour.

Hassan Manasrah is a multidisciplinary visual artist. He studied Applied Arts at Al-Balqa’ Applied Arts University and Graphic Arts at the Institute of Fine Arts, both in Jordan. Hassan was in residence at the Fire Station (2018-2019).

Pfeil: professional carving tool
Flexcut
Speedballs lino cutters / any kind of chisel
Brayer
Linoleum plate A5 or A4 size
Glass plate
Oil based Ink
Painting knife
Paint thinner
Metal spoons
Fabric scraps
Cardboard
Scissors
Water resistant thin markers
Sketching paper
Soft white Febriano carton / Canson soft grainy / Recycled paper

Note: The materials are optional. You can still join the workshop without having all materials to learn the technique and know more about it without applying the technique during the workshop.
